About the Estate
Welcome
Since 1992 in our family's hands, Herdade das Bernardas is a refuge in the Alentejo. When we first arrived, little had been built, only a few old structures still standing. It was in this almost untouched landscape that we decided to build our home, choosing the most secluded spot, closest to nature, with an open view over the Alentejo Montado, the most authentic we know.
Today, we open our doors to those who seek peace, silence, and a true opportunity to step away from the rhythm of the city. Here, time slows down.

Authenticity
Built from the ground up with materials from the land. Stone, lime, timber: choices made to last and to sit right in the landscape.
Nature
The estate has open land, old trees and four reservoirs. Wildlife is there whether you look for it or not.
